TPC Summerlin is a private par-72, 7,243-yard golf course located in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Assistant Tennis Professional assists with all tennis related activities required to run the Club tennis program.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent and a thorough knowledge of tennis court protocol, rules and regulations and two years previous tennis teaching experience.
  • Certified through the USPTA (Level P-3 or higher) or USPTR (Associate level or higher).
  • First Aid certified.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct regularly scheduled programs for the members for social, competitive and instructional program for all ages, gender and skill levels that might include: leagues, exhibitions, inter/intra-club events, camps, charity and community-based events.
  • Properly set up tennis courts including water coolers, towels and other amenities.
  • Repair tennis rackets and restring as requested within standards established by PGA TOUR Golf Course Properties, Inc. 
  • Assist with preventative maintenance and tennis court repairs as needed and are completed on a timely basis and maintained in accordance with club standards.
  • Coordinate league, rosters, schedules and scoreboards and responsible for timely and accurate updates.
  • Maintain a high profile with membership and guests.  Positively promote the service philosophy of the club and PGA TOUR Golf Course Properties, Inc.
  • Verify the accuracy of prices for state and federal taxes and other charges on all sales tickets and accurately operate the Point of Sale (P.O.S.) system. 
  • Handle and count cash, make accurate change, record credit cards and member charges as prescribed by standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure that all members and guests are greeted and welcomed in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Assist in maintaining cleanliness and appearance of tennis shop, storage area and merchandise displays. 
  • Professionally communicate information and sell merchandise and become fully knowledgeable in all products and sales techniques.  Anticipate the needs of members and guests and offer appropriate merchandise alternatives.
  • Answer telephone, schedule future court reservation times, and communicate information in a pleasant and professional manner.
  • Assist with physical inventories as prescribed by PGA TOUR Golf Course Properties, Inc as needed.
  • Open and close the tennis business operations and facilities using established standard operating procedures.
  • Special projects or other duties as assigned.

Travel

Work Schedule Expectations

  • This position typically requires working standard business hours Monday through Friday.
  • This position requires after hours, on-call shifts and the ability to work during nonstandard hours when the need arises.
  • This position requires early morning, late night, weekend and holiday shifts.

Supervisory Responsibility

  • This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
  • This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but may serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department.
  • This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but does manage projects.
  • This position manages employees and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within the department.
