Position Summary:
We are currently seeking a Staff Accountant that is proactive, driven, and collaborative. The ideal candidate will have the desire to apply accounting and finance knowledge acquired through prior roles to the unique challenges of a professional sports franchise. This person will report directly to the Controller and will be responsible for, but not limited to the following:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Create and post journal entries using adequate supporting documentation for multiple business entities
- Reconcile bank accounts on a recurring basis and report cash activity across the enterprise
- Prepare timely and accurate balance sheet account reconciliations
- Assist in preparation and distribution of monthly reports and financial statements
- Support and backup Accounts Payable and Account Receivable processes
- Assist in preparation of annual audit and tax PBCs
- Drive process improvement and contribute to projects that achieve scalability and efficiency
- Provide creative suggestions and proactive solutions to internal and external customer issues
- Complete other special projects as requested by leadership.
- Maintain good attendance and punctuality.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Experience & Qualifications:
- The ideal candidate will have 1to 3 years of relevant Accounting experience.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills (X-lookups, Pivot Tables, Sum-ifs)
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (Accounting Software), Concur (AP & Expense Platform) a plus, but not required
- Demonstrated critical thinking skills
- Highly motivated, with strong work ethic
- Ability to learn quickly, open to change and enjoy the challenge of unfamiliar tasks.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment; handle multiple tasks with the ability to reprioritize and shift priorities quickly.
- Written/Oral communications - ability to speak and write clearly and concisely, get messages across that have the desired effect.
- Ability to work flexible hours required.
- A high degree of personal integrity and consistently put the interests of the organization first.
- Must be a fierce communicator and cross-organizational collaborator.

- Compensation:
- In accordance with Washington’s Equal Pay and Opportunity Act, the salary range for this role is $70,000 to $80,000. Actual base pay will depend on employee’s experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.

Working Conditions:
- Minimal Travel (<10% travel): May be required to travel. Trips may require air travel and/or overnight stay away from home for one or more nights.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule
- Frequent bending, lifting 15-20 pounds, sitting, exposure to multiple external elements, extensive walking through the building including inclines and stairs.
