Sr. Account Executive, Advertising and Sponsorships (REMOTE)
The Locked On Podcast Network was founded in 2016 (acquired by TEGNA in 2021). Since our inception, we have proudly been innovators and digital media pioneers. We were one of the first podcast networks to focus exclusively on short-form, daily podcasts that are now the industry standard. We created the local team podcast model that is now a leading industry segment. And we have launched some of the most popular sports podcasts in the country. Now, the innovation continues as we venture further into video content for YouTube, OTT, FAST TV and other platforms to reach new audiences and expand our programming footprint. Today, Locked On produces 200+ podcast shows for audio and video, providing in-depth coverage of every NBA, NFL, MLB, and NHL team plus most major college sports teams. We also publish industry-leading, league-wide daily podcasts for fantasy sports, league drafts, and more. We are one of the top producers of podcast episodes each week for audio and video that generate an audience of 30 million listeners and viewers a month.
Locked On is looking for its next superstar advertising salesperson for our Sr. Account Executive, Advertising and Sponsorships role. You will join one of the best podcast advertising and partnership teams in the country, selling audio and video media programs to brands and agencies across the country.
The Role
Sr. Account Executive, Advertising and Sponsorships, will sell podcast advertising to direct response agencies, ad agencies, and brand advertisers. The person in this position will be responsible for selling podcast advertising for audio and video. You will be calling on and working directly with national direct response ad agencies, general advertising agencies, brands, media planners, media buyers, and national sports advertisers to design and sell advertising campaigns, programs, sponsorship, and integrated content features for our network of podcasts. We are looking for a self-starter, team player, problem solver, forward looking thinker, and someone who is comfortable working in a startup culture.
Required Qualifications
· 5+ years of industry experience selling or buying national advertising for radio, TV, podcasts, or digital media properties to/with agencies, advertisers, and brands
· Some experience selling directly to major national brands, sports advertisers, or ad agencies
· A background working directly with clients to build, price and create campaigns, sponsorships, and integrated content
· Creative approach to developing unique advertising opportunities, sponsorships, and branded content integrations
· Experience selling to all partners in the sales ecosystem including marketers, agency media planners, and agency media buyers
· Experience working with traffic and/or ad operations to implement successful campaigns for your clients
· Self-starter, comfortable working on their own to drive results, manage clients, and to find, generate, and call on advertising prospects
· Experience working with a CRM to manage your clients, ad pipeline, and for booking orders
· Track record of generating new business
· Team player willing to collaborate for the greater good
· Problem solver who brings solutions to the table
· Dedicated advocate for your clients and their success
· Comfortable working remotely and in a startup culture
Desired Qualifications
· Experience selling podcasts as part of a media portfolio
· Previous existing relationships with ad agencies, sports brands, and advertisers
· A passion for sports, sports media, and podcasts
· Knowledge of the podcast industry, trends, and analytics
