The Lancaster Barnstormers, located at Clipper Magazine Stadium, have an exciting opportunity for a 2024 Spring/Summer Human Resources Internship. The Barnstormers, a member of the Freedom Division of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball, is in Lancaster, PA. Since the team’s inception in 2005, the Lancaster Barnstormers have won three Atlantic League Championships. Known for winning records and high energy entertainment, the Barnstormers are seeking a hardworking individual to join our team and assist our Human Resources Manager with department operations, recruiting, onboarding, and payroll related tasks. Please note, this is an unpaid internship for the purpose of sports and entertainment industry experience, or for college credit.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with employee recruiting and onboarding
- Compile, maintain and update HR files
- Assist in processing bi-weekly payroll; review timecards, tip allocations and department coding entries
- Perform file audits to ensure that all required employee documentation is collected and maintained
- Provide exceptional customer service to organization employees
- Assist with various special projects
- Assist with organizational staffing logistics
- Assist with prep for non game day events from an organizational logistical level
- Maintain confidentiality
- Other duties as assigned by the HR Manager, CFO, General Manager or Ownership
Skills:
- Understanding of general human resources policies and procedures
- Solid accuracy and attention to detail
- Outstanding knowledge of MS Office; Accounting software; HRIS systems
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Ability to establish rapport and remain non judgmental
- Aptitude in problem-solving
