We are excited to hire a Sports Turf & Grounds Assistant. The Sports Turf & Grounds Assistant will assist with the maintenance of the landscape, grounds, and athletic fields at Centura Health Training Center.
Responsibilities Include:
- Execute daily maintenance plans on property including, but not limited to mowing, field renovation and cultural practices, field layout and painting, fertilizer and pesticide application, tarp installation/strike, and perform snow removal operations
- Operate utility vehicles, tractors, mowers, string trimmers, hand tools, and other equipment
- Monitor, troubleshoot, repair, and program irrigation systems
- Maintain associated turf maintenance logs, chemical application logs, and MSDS manuals
- Assist with NFLPA mandated field testing
- Communicate turf needs, maintenance requirements, and priority recommendations to Turf staff
- Execute field setup and strike for team practices and/or special events
- Execute synthetic turf maintenance practices
- Execute daily maintenance plans on property including native grass areas, planting beds, trees, and shrubs
- Perform cultural practices including trimming, pruning, weeding, and edging
- Monitor, troubleshoot, repair, and program irrigation systems
- Execute weed management plan through mechanical and chemical applications
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
- Associate degree or Certificate in Turfgrass Management, Horticulture, Agriculture, or equivalent from an accredited program; or two (2) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 1-3 years related experience.
- Basic knowledge of turfgrass management, landscape management, computerized irrigation systems, parking lot and sidewalk maintenance, field layout and painting techniques, snow removal equipment and procedures
- Ability to work in all weather conditions and remain standing/walking/bending over 50% of the workday
- Ability to work independently and in teams
- Ability to work under pressure
- Must work flexible and extended hours including weekends, early mornings, evenings, and holidays
- Must maintain confidentiality
Preferred expectations:
- Bachelor’s degree in Turfgrass Management, Horticulture, Agriculture, or equivalent from an accredited university; or three (3) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Thorough knowledge of turfgrass management, landscape management, computerized irrigation systems, parking lot and sidewalk maintenance, field layout and painting techniques, snow removal equipment and procedures
- Adept at operating and maintaining industry-standard equipment
- Ability to work closely with all members of the organization, with high level of commitment required
In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the salary for this role is $40,000 - $48,000. This a non-exempt position that will be eligible for overtime. This position will be required to work flexible hours including weekends, early mornings, evenings and holidays outside of a normal working hours as needed.
This position will be located at the Denver Broncos Training Center in Englewood, CO.
