Position Overview:
Candidates should be highly motivated, passionate, and driven individuals that are seeking hands-on experience in a fast-paced, interactive, and professional sports environment. All of our internships have broad access to many aspects of a professional sports team business, and this role specifically will support the marketing and operations department through producing content and working with the stadium location to promote the team. The Communications Intern will assist in content ideas, write and edit articles for the team’s website, execute media and business outreach, and assist in marketing..

Responsibilities:
- Write and edit feature articles and press releases
- Assist in creating content for social media channels
- Help raise brand awareness and increase ticket sales
- Engage with local media to build stories about the Union season and playoffs
- Help manage street team members to spread awareness about the team’s events
- Build relationships with professors, coaches, and students to increase awareness
- Contact Chicago businesses to share information about the team
- Assist with gameday execution
- Other duties as assigned
Position Qualifications:
- Current undergraduate studying Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Sports Marketing, or a related field
- Highly motivated, aggressive, detailed-oriented and reliable self-starter who thrives in a team environment
- Creative and strategies in nature with the ability to think outside the box and articulate "big ideas”
- Strong writing and communications skills
- A strong understanding of sports & sports content
- Ability to complete projects independently
