The Hops are searching for a creative, seasonal Sous Chef who enjoys sports, catering, and meeting the needs of our guests. We have an outstanding 6-month opportunity for a Chef who thrives on building relationships, mentoring the next generation of culinarians, and producing “fan”tastic fare. Love baseball? Apply for the Hillsboro Hops Seasonal Sous Chef position. Essential Duties: Works under the direction of our “Lead Chef” to:
· Train and manage kitchen personnel and supervise/coordinate all related culinary activities; Estimate food consumption and requisition or purchase food.
· Select and develop recipes and standardize production recipes to ensure consistent quality; Establish presentation technique and quality standards, and plan and price menus.
· Ensure proper equipment operation/maintenance and proper kitchen safety and sanitation.
· Assist in producing special catering events and may offer culinary instruction and/or demonstrate culinary techniques.
· Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
· Ideal candidates will possess two to three years of post-high school education, preferably a culinary degree, and 3+ years of experience in the industry. Special consideration is given to candidates who have previously worked in a stadium, arena, or hotel environment.
· This includes experiential knowledge required for managing people and/or problems. Requires oral, reading, and written communication skills.
· Requires obtaining a current Food Handlers or Serve Safe certificate.
