Position Overview:
The Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) is eager to foster the talents of professionals who are passionate about contributing to the league’s grassroots marketing initiatives, regardless of experience level. These individuals will form a collective group of geo-based team members dubbed “Shield Team”. The PLL Shield Team is a relentless group of mavens with the express role of finding and converting new fans, one interaction at a time. Shield Team members will be responsible for staffing and executing grassroots activations within PLL markets. This includes but is not limited to: talking to many new and existing fans about the PLL and upcoming PLL events, distributing giveaways or operating other engaging fan activities in your local city, and storing infrastructure required for a grassroots activation such as a tent and table. Qualified candidates should be genuinely passionate about getting involved in the fast-paced world of sports entertainment – specifically professional lacrosse. Candidates need to be passionate, self-motivated, and organized individuals who want to represent the League in a positive way through consistent interactions with fans. Qualifications:
Required
- Must be able to work out of or travel to Philadelphia
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be available to work at least 2 weekends per month year-round
- High social IQ and developed interpersonal skills
- Ability to approach and confidently speak with strangers
- Passionate about sports entertainment
- Adaptable mindset with the ability to problem-solve
- Access to a vehicle or convenient transportation
- Space to accommodate on-hand inventory required for activations
- Physically capable of lifting 50 lbs
- Able to be on their feet for long periods of time
Preferred
- Experience in sports marketing and/or coverage of sporting events
- College Junior or Senior-level education in a marketing/sports-related field
- Knowledgeable of the PLL brand
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Find and create the next generation of PLL fans in your home city
- Identify and cover events within local markets, including:
- In-season PLL games (2024 Season and Championship Series)
- PLL Youth and Adult Lacrosse Partners
- PLL bar and restaurant partners/affiliates
- PLL-sponsored events
- Local sporting events (amateur and professional)
- Conventions and Expos
- Fundraisers/Charitable Events
- Assist with identifying and planning grassroots marketing opportunities that are bespoke to your local market
- Collaborate and plan activations with other team members located in other PLL markets
- Manage and house PLL inventory
- Attend and participate in bi-weekly meetings
- Track and report data/KPIs
Compensation:
- $15.00 to $17.00 hourly
- Based on location and experience
