Position Description
The Senior Manager of Safeguarding Operations is an operational leader who will be responsible for supporting the implementation of the safeguarding strategic and operational roadmap. They will work closely with the VP of Safeguarding Prevention & Education, VP of Safeguarding Response & Resolution, executive leadership, and broader stakeholders to carry out key priorities in support of fostering safe environments for play within the U.S. ecosystem. They will be a natural leader and relationship builder, with experience designing and scaling programs to achieve specific objectives. This person will report to the VP of Safeguarding Prevention and Education.
Primary Responsibilities
- Act as a key contributor to the overall operational roadmap for the USSF Safeguarding Strategy and Priorities
- Support the implementation of programs directed at fostering safe environments for play, including the Safe Soccer Clearance Program
- Manage planning and execution of day-to-day business operations in support of short-term and long-term Safeguarding objectives
- Develop a strong operating model between USSF and key ecosystem stakeholder partners
- Support all external communication and representation of the Safeguarding Department
- Contribute to the development and management of departmental key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Responsible for conducting qualitative and quantitative assessments that guide future state strategies and solutions in Safeguarding
- Identify and implement digital tools and resources to enhance safeguarding operations
Minimum Qualifications
- B.S./B.A. or Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university required
- 3-5+ years of experience in business operations / general management
- Must have a strong belief in fostering safer environments for play
- Preference for someone with safeguarding experience and familiarity with governing USOPC, FIFA, and USCSS policies
- Experience supporting program design and delivery that drive results against priority objectives
- Strong project management skillset
- Proven problem solver and operator
- Strong ability to influence key stakeholder partners
- Capable of working in fast-paced and demanding environments
- Ability to deliver high quality work and execute under pressure/deadlines
- Must be able to connect “micro” details to the “macro” vision and mission
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Passion for the sport of soccer
- Proficient experience with Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook)
