SUMMARY: 
The Public Relations Manager will be responsible for handling all media interaction and matters, create and manage all content written by the club, and be a liaison between the player interaction with both media and fan engagement.   
 
Reports To: VP of Marketing 
 
RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  • Write and distribute all soccer/non-soccer press releases 
  • Maintain friendly and professional relationship with all local media members 
  • Manage, oversee, and facilitate all soccer and all non-soccer related media requests 
  • Plan & execute annual Media Day 
  • Write & print media guides, stats, game notes, rosters, and all other soccer collateral 
  • Publicize, coordinate, and run all press conferences & interviews 
  • Liaison between team and staff, fans, and media 
  • Answer all soccer related questions from staff, fans, and media 
  • Create and edit game day program content 
  • Proofread and edit inter-department collateral 
  • Aid in creation and execution of all marketing plans and initiatives 
  • Provide content for team website and blog 
 
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE  
  • Must have a college degree
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Must have strong work ethic, results oriented, and ability to go above and beyond what is necessary to achieve success; 
  • Organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects; 
  • Strong team player, self-starter and self-motivator; 
  • Previous professional sports, preferably soccer experience 
  • Willingness to work long, irregular hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed; 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
