Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for the general maintenance of the facility. This includes, but is not limited to conversions of arena seating systems and other equipment from one event setup to another, general carpentry, small mechanical repairs and landscaping.
- Provides staffing support for the building during an event when assigned.
- Expected to attend meetings and training classes to keep up to date on building policies and procedures as required
- Ensure the part time changeover staff and leads are performing their duties in a safe manner.
- Plan, research and implement special projects, such as floor refinishing, painting and major repairs.
- Constantly evaluate operations’ procedures to ensure safety and establish new safety guidelines.
- Organize, prepare and supervise building changeovers.
- Supervise a responsive, well drilled staff to react to event needs and emergencies.
- Conduct employee seminars to promote safety, improve efficiency and explain company policies and procedures.
- Ensure the safety of the building at each event.
- Follow established dress and behavioral codes.
- Complete inventory of all equipment and tools.
Experience:
Experience and skills required, but not limited to:
- High school diploma or its equivalent preferred.
- Previous supervisory experience in related field preferred.
- Candidate must have the ability to read and follow verbal and written instructions as well as adhere to building policies and event requirements.
- Must be able to lift objects up to 50 lbs and stand, bend and stoop for long periods of time.
- Must be able to climb stairs to inspect and handle problems.
- Candidate must have knowledge of basic mathematical skills.
- Candidate must be willing to work in a fast paced, team environment.
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule of different shifts revolving around event schedules including evenings, weekends and holiday hours if needed.
- Must have ability to interact with fellow employees and general public in a professional manner.
- Candidate must stay alert and observant.
- Must be forklift certified or have the ability to obtain forklift certification once employed.
- Valid NC driver’s license and clean driving record preferred.
- Must pass background check.
