OVERVIEW
The Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) is an MLS soccer club serving the greater Los Angeles area. LAFC is invested in the world’s game and Los Angeles, constructing, and developing the 22,000 seat BMO Stadium and a top-flight training center on the campus of Cal-State Los Angeles.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Manager, Global Partnerships Strategy is responsible in supporting every partnership sale, renewal, and upsell opportunity across local and international club properties, as well as external consultancy projects. This position requires the individual to be self-motivated, possess a creative, entrepreneurial, and sales mindset, and the ability to collaborate with the Business & Data Strategy team to provide insights and strategic recommendations. Candidates must be able to display excellent written and verbal communications, a strong worth ethic, the ability to multitask, the ability to leverage strategic insights to develop creative solutions, and adherence to detail-oriented, data-driven sales processes.
This role will report to the VP, Business and Data Strategy.
LAFC is currently operating on a hybrid work model with a minimum of 1 – 2 in-office days per week. Please note that this may vary by role, and your scheduled in-office days are up to the discretion of your supervisor.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Collaborate with data strategy and marketing teams to develop a ‘sales story’ for each club property and external consultancy projects.
- Develop collateral (brand briefs, pitch presentations, sizzle reels, prospect business cases), create designer outlines, and identify insights to support sales stories.
- Coordinate with internal and third-party graphic design resources on the creation of sales materials.
- Build out partnership platforms and provide ideation for new sales opportunities, including player endorsements, potential new inventory, and international assets.
- Provide business case analyses for properties, brands, and agencies.
- Manage CRM (KORE Software/Salesforce) partnership inventory assets, rate cards, allocation and assignments, deal build out, input and finalization for LAFC Corporate Partnerships, BMO Stadium Exterior Signage Program, and Digital Freeway Towers Displays.
- Manage configuration records elements, including season build out, event list build out, synced Tableau users, legal agreement template management, and deal sheet rollover.
- Manage automated approvals process for all active and pending deal stages.
- Maintain Corporate Partnerships payments and liaise with Finance department.
- Produce financial reporting related to barter and trade deal revenue equivalents, MLS league revenue reporting and submissions, and monthly partnerships commissions.
- Collaborate with Digital & Content teams to create social & digital branded content assets.
- Collaborate with Community team to create new sellable social impact platforms.
- Work with Stadium Operations team in packaging of available Stadium assets and signage
- Work with Box Office & Ticketing team to manage available inventory included in new partnership deals.
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor/Management.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree from an accredited four-year College or University required.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a related role or partnership sales required.
- Previous experience with presentation development tools (Visme or PowerPoint preferred).
- Previous experience with data visualization tools (Tableau preferred).
- Previous experience with survey creation, distribution, and analysis (Qualtrics preferred).
- Previous experience with demographic data tools (YouGov, Scarborough, Nielsen preferred).
- Previous experience in writing SQL queries for data manipulation and analysis preferred.
- Previous experience with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred).
- Knowledge of ticketing systems is a plus (Ticketmaster preferred).
- Knowledge of the professional soccer landscape is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written.
- Strong writing skills and knowledge of AP Style guidelines.
- Must be proactive, organized, and resourceful with great attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task, meet tight deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced setting.
- Must possess a high level of discretion with the ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential information as needed.
- Flexible schedule with the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as the event calendar requires.
SALARY RANGE
At LAFC, we carefully consider a wide range of factors to determine a fair and equitable compensation package. The final offer amount will consider a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to skill sets; relevant experience and training; and other business and organizational needs. Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure guidelines, the overall range for this role is $75,000 - $100,000 per year.
