The Club’s brands include men's and women's professional teams - the Houston Dynamo (MLS) and Houston Dash (NWSL), a development academy, Houston Dynamo Dash Charities, as well as Shell Energy Stadium and Houston Sports Park. The Club has a rich history, including MLS Cup titles (2006, 2007) and in-season tournament championships for both the Dynamo (2018 and 2023) and Dash (2020) and is focused on building toward the next championships, inspiring and uniting the city of Houston through the sport of soccer and community outreach, and creating the most inclusive sporting experience and diverse fan base in the city and state.
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The Houston Dynamo Football Club is seeking an individual for the position of Coordinator, Integrated Marketing and Merchandise. This role is part of the Marketing team and reports to the Director, Integrated Marketing. This role is responsible for supporting the marketing team across planning and executing key initiatives and activations, managing and executing the day-to-day operations of the retail and promotional programs and acting as the lead liaison with the Club’s third-party retail partners, league licensees and other key stakeholders, ensuring all merchandise meets the Clubs’ brand standards. The Coordinator will work collaboratively in a dynamic environment and cross functionally to ensure we optimize the merchandise strategy.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist Director, Integrated Marketing with the planning and execution of key initiatives and activations
- Lead the day-to-day management and execution of the retail merchandise strategy, including product planning, delivery, and promotion
- Serve as the main point of contact with third-party retail operators to ensure stadium team store and other points of sale showcase Dynamo and Dash merchandise in premium way to drive and meet revenue targets
- Partner with extended Marketing team to create retail and match day promotional calendars; manage procurement, promotion, delivery of all promotional items (e.g., gate giveaways, ticket incentives, etc.)
- Collaborate with Marketing team to identify collaboration projects with local artists and influencers to support and energize overall marketing plans
- Execute the internal process for all promotional items required and requested by internal departments and work with third-party vendors to develop on-brand products and facilitated delivery on-time and on-budget
- Work with Finance team to manage reporting needs to league, player associations, etc. on royalty and other payments
- Additional duties as assigned
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree – required
- Minimum of 1 year of full-time sports marketing experience or extensive sports and entertainment internship experience – required
- Knowledge of, or willing to learn, emerging trends in the field of fashion and consumer products
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) – required
- Bilingual English/Spanish – preferred
- Available for home games, as needed, to manage third party retailer and/or promotional nights
- Ability to work evenings, weekends and some holidays
