If you answered yes to those questions, this is your chance to create a new persona as On-Field MC for the Aberdeen IronBirds during the IronBirds season! Be a part of the most fun, family-friendly entertainment environment in Harford County by leading the Flight Crew, our in-park hype squad! This role will report directly to the Director of Creative Services.
Responsibilities
- Effectively communicate with gameday production staff and be a contributing member to the entertainment team
- Coordinate with assistant performers/crew in-game (Flight Crew, mascots, camera operator)
- Coordinate with gameday entertainment staff and Corporate Partnerships Director to meet gameday objectives
- Take responsibility for activation of sponsorship materials, contests, and other promotions
- Find and motivate fan participants for between inning contests / promotions
- Assist in setup/break down of props and materials for gameday use as needed
Qualifications
- High energy to sustain multiple hours per night over 6-game homestands
- An outgoing and engaging personality capable of representing the IronBirds' brand
- Confidence, creativity, and the ability to entertain fans of all ages
- Comfort and expressiveness in front of big, loud crowds
- Strong reading and improvisation skills
- Basic knowledge of Baseball
- Professionalism in dealing with players, coaches, and on-field personnel during pre-game entertainment and ceremonies
- The ability to work 95%+ of IronBirds home games, plus pre-season activities/promotional campaign creation and potential playoff games; visit GoIronBirds.com to see the schedule
- Prior experience in theater, sports, television, radio, or other entertainment media preferred but not a requirement.
- Additional performance talents (singing, dancing, juggling, tumbling, etc.) a plus!
Physical Requirements
- The In-Game Host/MC will be required to stand for extended periods, walk, jog, run, navigate stairs on foot, crouch, bend, jump, dance, and more
- Occasional lifting of items up to 50 pounds
- Occasional exposure to extreme heat and cold.
- Significant amounts of time will be spent talking during job duties
