The Hockey Team Services Manager reports to the Director of Hockey Operations and Head Coach. This individual will manage and coordinate all aspects of team travel and effectively provide communication and coordination support to players and staff members as needed.

Responsibilities/Essential Functions

NHL Hockey Team Travel

  • Work with the Director of Hockey Operations and Head Coach on daily and monthly calendars, itineraries, and operational logistics.
  • Manage all aspects of team travel, including but not limited to, planning and booking team travel, including flights, buses, and hotel accommodations.
  • Travel with the team to all road games and oversee daily road travel logistics, including per diems.
  • Maintain an accurate and current team schedule for travel, ice times, and off-ice events.
  • Work with team equipment staff to book practice, game rink ice times, etc.
  • Produce and provide team itineraries to players, staff, and others as appropriate.
  • Assist other NHL clubs in scheduling practice ice time, equipment transfers, and ground transportation.
  • Collaborate with appropriate individuals to provide logistical support for player movement to and from minor league club.
  • Assist players and staff in relocating to Minnesota/Iowa.
  • Help plan and coordinate all logistics of the training camp, including food/per diem, hotels, flights, ground transportation, and special events.
  • Compile reward travel points and passports, updating staff and player contact information and rosters for NHL players.

NHL Hockey Team Coordination & Communication

  • Oversee player and staff game ticket procurement and distribution at home and on the road.
  • Administer inter-departmental communication in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate team meals at home and on the road and provide per diems for players and staff.
  • Serve as team contact for air charter company.
  • Provide off-ice support for players and staff.
  • Prepare and process incoming and outgoing correspondence regarding invoices, travel logistics, NHL player requests, etc.
  • Managing Wild Team credit card reconciliation.
  • Work closely with the Manager of Hockey Ops Administration on department files.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree is highly recommended, but not required.

Knowledge & Experience

  • A minimum of three (3) years of logistics and coordination experience in a similar role is required.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience customer service experience is required.

Personal Attributes

  • Positive personality with strong written, verbal interpersonal/communication skills.
  • Proven ability to establish rapport quickly with players, management, and hockey operations personnel both internally and externally.
  • Must be highly organized and able to handle multiple tasks and tight deadlines for complex, concurrent tasks.
  • Appropriately handles confidential information.
  • Ability and willingness to handle pressure and multiple demands and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to act as a representative of Minnesota Wild Brand and Hockey Operations.
  • Independent self-starter who is focused on results.
  • Excellent reasoning and judgment.
  • Display attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Team-oriented and customer-focused work style.
  • Strong ability to negotiate (hotels, meals, etc.).

Work Conditions

  • Extensive travel required; position expected to travel with the team and attend all games.
  • Ability to work extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
