The Memphis Redbirds, Triple A affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals, and Memphis 901 FC, members of USL Championship, are searching for grounds crew members to work before, during, and after games as well as daily as needed for field conversions and maintenance.
Compensation: $12.00/hour
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Baseball Game Day:
- Batting practice setup and teardown
- Pre-game prep such as dragging, setting string lines for chalk, setting out bases/hose, mound and plate prep, painting batters boxes
- Post-game fixes such as repairing mound and plate, cleaning baselines, cleaning out edges, repairing bullpens, etc.
Soccer Match Day:
- Setup and tear down of technical areas including protective flooring, shelters, and benches, goals, and field boards;
- in-match sideline security and ball retrieval;
- halftime field repair/maintenance
Daily Activities:
- Assist with mowing, trimming, weeding, mulching, and general maintenance of all landscaping on stadium grounds
- Assist with periodic field maintenance such as aerating, verti-cutting, etc.
- Assist with field conversion duties such as mound removal/rebuild, sod laying/removal, etc.
- Keep shop area and equipment clean, organized, and in good working condition
- Assist with tarp pulls as assigned
- Represent the organizations in a positive and professional manner at all times
- Other duties as assigned to successfully host first-class events at AutoZone Park
