The Role and What You’ll Do:

The Corporate Paralegal provides legal support to the UFC legal team. This support includes but is not limited to production and analysis of various legal documents for the UFC legal team and other support staff. This position will be responsible for gathering, preparing and summarizing relevant materials for use by the UFC legal team and other UFC employees. In addition, this position will be responsible for reviewing and drafting certain commercial agreements, assist in facilitating commercial transactions, and assist with managing and ensuring compliance with the legal departments policies and other duties as assigned.

  •  Ensures proper indexing and filing of legal documents, tracking of drafts of legal documents.
  • Maintain, update (as requested) and organize commercial templates.
  • Provide support for a variety of internal business units, including, but not limited to, the consumer products, global partnerships, content and brand units.
  • Routes communications from internal clients to the appropriate Legal team member.
  • Prepares first-draft agreements for attorney review.
  • Conducts research and prepares presentation for attorney review.
  • Maintains and summarizes legal spreadsheets and other miscellaneous documents and databases.
  • Liaise between in-house attorneys, outside counsel and in-house employees.
  • Assist in Company’s intellectual property enforcement practices, including, but not limited to, documenting infringement, preparing cease and desist letters and other record keeping practices regarding the same.
  • Assists legal department in business and legal affairs for all day-to-day activities.
  • Prepares copyright applications.
  • Assists in matters of due diligence and document review and preparation for major transactions, as necessary.
  • Assists with other general business and legal affairs projects as requested.
  • Prepares correspondence and performs clerical duties, including scanning, copying and distributing department mailings
  • Assist UFC legal with booking meetings, travel arrangements and other assistant related duties.
  • Other tasks, duties, and projects as assigned typical of a corporate paralegal or corporate legal secretary.

You Have These:

  • Paralegal certificate or Associate degree in Paralegal Studies or related field required; Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies or related field preferred.
  • Two or more years of paralegal or combination of paralegal and legal secretary experience.
  • Must hold a Notary Public certification or be willing to obtain the certification. 
  • Ability to effectively communicate, orally and in writing, with individuals in all levels of the organization.  
  • Ability to analyze information and identify/develop options and solutions.
  • Ability to read and interpret information accurately and concisely.
  • Ability to maintain discretion and confidential information.
  • Must be able to effectively multi-task, manage time-sensitive documents and have exceptional organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent proofreading and grammatical skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and follow through.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.  
  • Ability to operate multi-line phone, calculator, cell phone, copier, fax, scanner, etc.
  • Knowledge of legal terminology.
