Content Marketing and Video Production Internship - Minot, ND
The Minot Hot Tots & Minot Softball are offering internship opportunities for current college students with an interest in sports and event media to gain experience and knowledge in content creation, video/broadcast production and marketing. Hot Tot internships provide students with immersive, hands-on-learning to help position them for a career in the sports, entertainment and event industry upon graduation.
Who We Are
The Minot Hot Tots began play in 2023. After a successful season, the Hot Tots are excited to continue to build on that success. During the inaugural season the Hot Tots sold out 7 games, including the first sellout since the 90’s at Corbett Field.
The Northwoods League (NWL) is the largest organized baseball league in the world with 25 teams, drawing more fans than any league of its kind. The NWL provides top college players from North America and beyond a summer collegiate baseball experience. More than 300 Northwoods League players have advanced to Major League Baseball in the NWL’s 30-year history.
In 2024, the NWL is set to begin a first of its kind summer collegiate softball league. Minot is excited to welcome one of the four inaugural teams to play at Corbett Field. All internships will have the unique opportunity to work with the Hot Tots and the new NWL softball team.
The Internship Position
As a Content Marketing and Video Production intern you will help support our marketing, media and sponsorship teams by assisting with storytelling and marketing elements including but not limited to: videos, team stories, social media pieces, graphics, press releases, etc. You’ll work closely with the sponsorship and media department plus other internal teams to showcase the Minot Hot Tot’s mission of using FUN to make a difference in our community and state.
The Content Marketing and Video Production intern team will lead 8-15 live games featured on ESPN+ and (at least) one live game on NBC to be viewed statewide. This internship will also feature the Sports Director and Broadcaster at KMOT-TV, Zach Keenan, during the game on NBC.
Content Marketing and Video Production interns will serve as Hot Tot representative at various promotions, events, and Hot Tot games.
Start Date: May 6, 2024
End Date: August 16, 2024 (dependent on post season play)
Academic Qualifications: Applicants should be studying a subject in a relevant field. This may include but is not limited to Sport Management, Broadcasting, Journalism, Marketing and Communications.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Assist the Content Marketing and Video Production team with broadcasting every Hot Tot game live. The team is made up of 3 Camera Operators, 1 Camera Director, 1 Graphics Director, and 1 Broadcaster.
- You can watch previous games on demand for free:
- Assist with creating and implementing marketing strategies to promote ticket sales, events, sponsored promotions, and the Hot Tot brand. Content includes but is not limited to videos, graphics, social media posts, website and program stories, photos, press releases, radio ads and more.
- Compile and distribute stat packs, game notes, post-game notes, etc to the NWL and media outlets
- Assist with social media channels, as needed
- Retouch, edit and manage all photos
- Represent the team at various Hot Tot events and participate in other outside, community events and mascot appearances, as defined by the team
- Promote a positive fan experience by interacting with our fans in all areas of the ballpark
General Team Responsibilities
- Game and Team Event Availability: Expected to be available for all Minot Hot Tot & Minot Softball Home Games. home games and team events, this includes weekends and holidays. The Hot Tots will host 36 home games, while Minot Softball will Host 20 home games.
- Outside Event Availability: Expected to be available for select outside events including but not limited to company picnics, festivals, etc. Full event list will be provided. This includes weekends and holidays.
- Game Day and Event Hours: Expected to be available from mid to late morning through the end of the game and/or event. Schedule will be decided by the direct supervisor on a homestand and event basis.
- Non-Game Day/Event Hours: Expected to attend office hours of 9 AM-5 PM each weekday.
- Assist with distribution of team pocket schedules, posters and other marketing materials throughout the stadium and community.
- Assist with ballpark set-up and tear-down before-the-season, after-the-season and during each homestand
- Assist with ballpark clean-up after every home game this includes but is not limited to trash, bathrooms, etc.
- Assist with event set-up and tear-down at team events
- Assist with Family Fun zone set-up and tear-down
- Maintain ballpark cleanliness including but not limited to: cleaning tables, chairs, Family Fun Zone area, etc.
- Every intern will be required to perform as the mascot at least once during the summer
- All other duties as assigned by front office staff
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Availability to work all home games and team events
- Previous internship or job in live sports production preferred
- Experience using Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere, InDesign, After Effects, Photoshop, Lightroom)
- Experience posting to social media including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok and LinkedIn
- The ability to work extended hours upwards of 14 hours and lift 30-50 lbs
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Must be a team player with strong leadership and communication skills
- Must be enthusiastic with a desire to work hard and have a positive “can‐do” attitude

Reports To: Content Marketing Manager
Stipend: $500 monthly stipend
Housing: Housing available upon request. Intern will be responsible for utilities.
Credit: College credit towards a major, minor or general elective may be earned.
