Position: Chief Marketing Officer

JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective
The Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) will be responsible for leading and scaling all marketing efforts and initiatives. The CMO manages the Communications and Multimedia departments and oversees the development and execution of the company’s marketing strategy. The CMO will serve as a key member of the senior leadership team and report to the CEO.
Essential Functions
· Work closely with the CEO, communications and multimedia teams to guide and unify the creative direction of the USPTA
· Provide marketing direction and oversight for the execution of long and short-term marketing strategies that advance organizational objectives
· Oversee the marketing operations of the company, including content creation, social media, public relations, events, partnerships, and influencer marketing
· Manage and optimize the marketing budget and resources allocation of the company
· Lead and oversee the Marketing and Multimedia efforts at annual USPTA World Conference
· Work with our endorsees/partners to communicate benefits and product promotion
· Manage communications and multimedia department staff and oversee all department projects
· Update and maintain all USPTA websites
· Serve as a member of the senior staff
· Serve as a liaison for the national staff on several association committees

Required Education and Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations or related field
· 10+ years of experience working in a senior management capacity in the communications field
· Advanced computer knowledge including Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite
· Experience creating and maintaining websites
· Highly skilled in all forms of social media
· Knowledge/experience using AP style guides
Preferred Experience
· Experience with iMIS association management software
· Advanced Degree in communications, public relations or related field
· Tennis or other racquet sports experience/knowledge
Supervisory Responsibility
The CMO manages the Director of Marketing and Communications and the Multimedia Manager and is responsible for the performance management of these employees.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, printers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary. Individuals may need to sit or stand as needed. This position may require walking primarily on a level surface for periods of time as well as reaching above shoulder heights or below the waist or lifting as required to file documents or store materials throughout the workday. Proper lifting techniques are required. This position may occasionally lift up to 25 pounds for files and computer printouts.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and typical hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some night and weekend availability may be required.
Travel
There is one week of travel required for this position to attend our annual World Conference. There may be a few other times throughout the year where the CMO is required to travel for other duties.
