The Springfield Lucky Horseshoes, a collegiate wood-bat summer league baseball team
in Springfield, Illinois, is looking to hire a Certified Athletic Trainer for the upcoming
2024 Prospect League Season.
The Certified Athletic Trainer will be responsible for both the home and visiting team while on duty, and is only required to attend Lucky Horseshoes home games during the 2024 Prospect League Season.
Responsibilities:
- Injury prevention, testing, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, and patient education.
- Establish an effective athletic training program for Lucky Horseshoes Players.
- Provide 1st aid and injury assessment/treatment/rehabilitation/reconditioning for Lucky Horseshoes players. The athletic trainer will also be responsible for making appropriate physician referral.
- Working with coaches, athletes, and medical professionals to evaluate the player's condition.
- Assisting and monitoring injured players as they heal and progress towards recovery.
- Assist in the selection and fitting of protective equipment, including special taping, pads or braces.
- Maintain an effective and efficient athletic training room.
- Communicate updates and important information to the coaching staff daily.
- Analyze injury trends and provide the coaches with recommendations to reduce the likelihood of injury.
- Additional duties to be assigned by the General Manager as needed.
Qualifications:
- National Athletic Trainer’s Association-Board of Certification in good standing
- State Licensure in good standing
- CPR/AED certification
- Professional Liability Insurance
