A Camera Operator for the Memphis Redbirds is a game day position that works as part of the Gameday Presentation team to execute the in-house shows during all Memphis Redbirds home games. The Camera Operator is responsible for running a broadcast/ENG camera while covering the game action assigned to their specific camera position. The Camera Operator plays a key role in enhancing the game day experience for fans. The incumbent must be flexible and adaptive in a fast-paced environment wherein critical thinking and the ability to effectively follow direction are essential. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

·         Attend and contribute to pre-production meetings each game

·         Run-through and get comfortable with all camera controls/specific camera position responsibilities

·         Maintain situational awareness during the entire game and inning breaks

·         Follow leads from game day Director and Manager, Event Production

·         Work with the control room team to execute high quality shows

·         Provide general support to the Game Presentation Department

·         Other duties as assigned

·         Prior experience with sports, events or live production preferred 

·         Willingness to operate wireless/handheld camera

·         Flexibility to work nights, weekends and holidays

·         Ability to work the entire event including pre- and post-game activities

·         General understanding of the game of baseball

·         Works well in fast-paced/live event, high pressure situations
