Reports to: Stadium Operations Assistant

Classification: Part-Time/Non-Exempt (Seasonal)

Summary/Objective

The Ballpark of the Palm Beaches is the Spring Training home to the Houston Astros and Washington Nationals.  This two-team location is a state-of-the-art facility designed for year-round use through Spring Training games, amateur baseball, non-baseball sporting events, community events along with banquets, corporate events, weddings and more.

In this role, you will be an essential part of the game experience and help build The Ballpark of the Palm Beaches memories that last a lifetime. In this role, you will responsible for retrieving bats and baseballs during games; as well as helping set up before games and clean up at the end of every game.  You will also be asked to perform a variety of other tasks that take place to maintain the integrity of the clubhouse. The Ballpark strives to deliver enjoyable guest experiences combined with the best entertainment value available.

• Be proactive and personable in greeting and assisting MLB players and coaching staff as this position requires extensive contact with the home team and the visiting team. Responsible for the set up and tear down of water coolers for each team and bullpen.
• Retrieve bats and baseballs from the playing field.
• Provides excellent service to the umpires, coaches and players.
• Assist with cleanup of both dugouts after games.
• Must always represent the Ballpark in a professional manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Environment

Job requires employee to function in a high activity and heavily crowded outdoor professional sports venue/environment (to include a baseball field).  Employee will be exposed to weather of varying degrees while performing the duties of this job. Employee must be alert at all times due to the threat of bats, balls, and other objects liable to be present and active.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

• Position may require standing for long periods of time, walking long distances and/or climbing up/down stairs.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
• May be required to stoop, kneel, crouch to lift/move/carry items weighing up to 20lbs on occasion.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a part-time/seasonal position. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including; extended hours, evenings, weekends and holidays.
