This is your opportunity to be part of the United Soccer League (USL) Spokane professional soccer team as the Athletic Trainer. This position will work with the Spokane Zephyr FC reporting directly to the Performance Director.  Spokane WA is a community consistently listed as one of the best cities to live in America and is passionate about local and national sports.  The Athletic Trainer will be an integral part of managing the day-to-day sports medicine operations for the Spokane Zephyr FC.  Coordinating and delivering daily prevention, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries and illnesses are key functions of this role.  USL Spokane fosters a culture of creativity, entrepreneurial spirit, commitment to staff and community engagement and we are looking for someone to help drive forward our mission:

General job duties include, but are not limited to:
·       Determines and delivers appropriate healthcare to players including first aid/emergency care, on-site injury evaluation, application of appropriate modalities, development and implementation of rehabilitation and prevention programs, and scheduling of medical referrals. 
·       Attends all team-sponsored events including practice sessions, gym sessions, home games, away games, and scrimmages.  
·       Coordinates with the visiting team to ensure access to appropriate medical services and supplies.  
·       Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions using evidence-based practices to guide decisions.
·       Electronically documents all relevant injury and illness information including mechanism of injury, examination and diagnosis, assessments, player treatments, and return to play progressions. 
·       Works in collaboration with performance staff to design and implement programs to reduce the risk of injury and illness. 
·       Complies with OSHA standards regarding blood-borne pathogens. 
·       Keeps athletic training room and other areas safe, clean, and organized. 
·       Initiates medical insurance claims for players. 
·       Complies with all League medical policies and protocols. 
·       Abides by all local, state, and federal laws and regulations specific to the profession, codes, and standards of the associated governing bodies. 
·       Attends all activities/meetings/programs as required by the League. 
·       Attends activities/meetings/programs to maintain professional license(s) and continually improve the level of health care services delivered to the players. 

This position must be able to work flexible hours which will include extended days, nights, weekends, holidays, and overnights due to travel. 
 
Minimum Qualifications Include: 
·       Must be certified by the Board of Certification (BOC) and be in good standing.
·       Minimum of two (2) years of experience as an athletic trainer after receiving BOC certification working in     collegiate, professional, or international environments.  
·       Multilingual preferred. 
·       First Aid and CPR certification required. 
·       Ability to pass SafeSport Training.  
·       Possess and maintain a current and valid driver’s license and maintain legally required insurance.

Compensation and Benefits: 
·       Exempt position with a range of $68,000 - $75,000.
·       Eligible for annual discretionary bonus.  
·       Paid unlimited vacation policy and 10 days of sick leave per calendar year.
·       Medical, dental, and vision insurance provided with a 75% employer contribution for employee premiums.
·       50% employer contribution for dependent/spouse medical, dental, and vision.  
·       Employer paid employee life insurance and AD&D.
