What you will do:
Franklin Sports, Inc. is looking to hire an Assistant Product Manager to support our iconic and flagship baseball category, with a focus on baseball and softball training.
The Assistant Product Manager is a pivotal support position for one of the highly engaging departments in the company. The employee will be working on a team primarily in a supporting role, and simultaneously collaborating with multiple departments throughout the organization. The responsibilities include but are not limited to market research on product assortments/industry trends, supporting new product ideation and development follow-up, daily communication with our global supply chain, creation of marketing presentations and deliverables, reviewing and organizing incoming sample prototypes, ensuring that all database inputs are accurate and properly maintained, copywriting and much more.
The position is located at our Headquarters in Stoughton, MA with a hybrid office option and will report to the Director, Product Management – Baseball/Softball

IN MORE DETAIL, YOU WILL:
· Manage assigned product line development (data creation, vendor communications, documentation, and database retention)
· Be responsible for ensuring accuracy and data entry of internal process systems and databases (Art Tracker, Smart Track, IMAST) are internal programs currently utilized
· Manage product and packaging approvals within the baseball and softball category
· Handle product specification identification, creation, and implementation
· Support with cost analysis and profitability analysis
· Manage sales presentation (i.e., ensure proper samples of products and packaging to the sales force are being provided promptly, etc.).
· Ensure that samples and prototype inventory in the warehouse are organized, categorized, and stored properly
· Support the Director of Product Management in the product development cycle
· Responsible for the creation of catalogs and printed material in support of annual launches
· Other projects as assigned
WHO YOU ARE:
The ideal candidate should have 5+ years of experience in a similar role in the consumer product goods industry, ideally in sporting goods, and needs to be able to understand product development marketing, be analytical, and have excellent follow-up and communication skills.
This candidate will also have had some experience playing and/or coaching baseball and/or softball at any level, including recreationally.
WHAT YOU HAVE DONE/ESSENTIAL TO THE ROLE:
· Completed your bachelor’s degree
· Have 5+ years of experience in product management support in the consumer product goods industry, ideally in sporting goods
· Superb attention to detail
· Are highly organized, motivated, and task-oriented
· Have advanced computer user skills - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Product Databases, Salsify
· Can manage multiple priorities and juggle between daily, weekly, and monthly demands
· Have an entrepreneurial mentality and eagerness to grow within the company in the product management area
· Are a strategic and analytical thinker
· Possess the ability to work well under pressure and work cross-functionally with all levels in the organization
· Have excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Have the ability and willingness to work occasionally in the sample warehouse environment
LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Interact independently with internal and external parties, has the knowledge to make independent decisions.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position does not supervise employees.
