Title: Accounting Coordinator
Reports To: Senior Director of Accounting
Location: WGAESF Headquarters – Glenview, IL
Salary Range: $50,000 - $65,000

Position Description:
The Accounting Coordinator is an entry-level position supporting the day-to-day accounting and reporting operations of the organization.  The position plays an essential role supporting all areas of accounting including the accounts payable and receivable functions of the organization.  In this role, one will have the opportunity to handle all aspects of accounting including a series of recurring weekly, monthly, and year-end tasks, along with financial analysis and other strategic projects.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Reconcile data between multiple software platforms including donor database (Raiser’s Edge), accounting software (Financial Edge), and tournament budgeting software (BudgeIt).
• Reconcile various accounts and subsidiary ledgers on a monthly basis.
• Provide financial reports for internal stakeholders and external organizations.
• Assist with maintaining detailed schedules needed for annual audit and tax returns.
Support the preparation process of external auditors.
• Record and process journal entries to ensure accurate recording of business transactions. 
• Review billing statements, invoices, and similar documents for accuracy. 
• Serve as back-up to the accounts payable function including:  preparing invoices, processing employee expense reports, assisting with new vendor set-ups, performing the weekly check run, and preparing 1099s for individuals and LLC vendors.
• Assist with various filings and reporting requirements with governmental departments.
• Serve as back-up to the accounts receivable function and post cash receipts from donor database to accounting software as needed. 
• Maintain departmental files both digital and physical to ensure records are up to date.
• Answer questions related to accounting policies and procedures as they arise.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance and/or equivalent work experience.
• 0 to 2 years of job-related experience.
• Basic understanding of non-profit organizations is preferred.
• Knowledge of and experience using integrated accounting software applications; Blackbaud FE NXT experience preferred. 
• Strong attention to detail, ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, maintain accurate records.
• Ability to analyze and compile data in report format as needed; knowledge of accounting, internet, spreadsheet, and word processing software; proficiency in Excel and Word. 
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
• Strong written and oral communication skills; exhibit good listening and comprehension; keep others informed.
• Willingness to maintain effective working relationships with a customer-focused attitude.
