Job Title: Academy Education Coach
Reports To: Director of Wellness & Education
FLSA: Salary, Non-Exempt – Full-time position
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate regular room checks and implement hygiene education initiatives for academy rooms.
- Efficiently manage and organize Wellness and Education supplies within the academy premises.
- Support the Education Coordinator (EC) in facilitating high school enrollment processes for players.
- Provide assistance to EC in monitoring and following up on English class progress.
- Plan and coordinate various wellness events, activities, and outings for players.
- Offer individual tutoring sessions to players enrolled in high school or English language programs.
- Respond promptly to emails and phone calls, maintaining effective communication channels.
- Assist players in developing essential life skills necessary for their personal and professional growth.
- Contribute to the implementation of recycling programs within the academy.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Adhere to professional boundaries with both players and staff members.
- Demonstrate a comprehensive awareness and sensitivity towards cultural differences and traditions.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to work long, flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays and some overtime throughout the year.
- Highly organized with the ability to multi-task and be a self-starter
- Independent judgment and ability to plan, prioritize, and organize a diversified workload.
- High level of interpersonal skills and ability to effectively embed and communicate with wide range of departments, seniority levels, and personalities.
- Must have excellent communication skills, good grammar, voice, and diction, strong interpersonal skills and a team-oriented spirit to provide exceptional service.
- Knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation software for administrative tasks (Teamworks, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
Experience, Education, and Licensure:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Prior work experience in professional baseball preferred.
Requirements:
- Bilingual (English & Spanish) preferred.
- Ability to travel to affiliates within the United States and the Dominican Republic.
- Willing to relocate. Position is based in the Dominican Republic at the Reds DR Academy Complex.
