Game Day Crowd Management / Access control
Position Overview –
Crowd Management/Access Control Staff provide exceptional customer service to IronBirds Fans at Leidos Field at Ripken Stadium to the highest professional standard. Ripken Stadium is a 6,000-seat stadium that is home to the Aberdeen IronBirds, High ‘A’ affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles.
Responsibilities
Crowd Management will work IronBirds games and events from April 9th - September 8th.
Crowd Management/Access Control staff will help to create a safe, enjoyable, secure environment in Leidos Field at Ripken Stadium by enforcing stadium policies about entry, re-entry, prohibited items, enforcing boundaries near entrances and exits as well as near sensitive MLB-staff-only areas of the facility. Crowd Management/Access Control Staff will work IronBirds games and events from April-September. The Crowd Management/Access Control Staff are expected to be available for no less than 75% of games (50 out of 66), barring educational commitments. Crowd Management/Access Control Staff are also expected to work no fewer than 12 of the 24 premium games (12 Fridays, 12 Saturdays) of the 2024 regular season games.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities of Crowd Management/Access Control Staff include:
· Create exceptional experiences for guests and staff by providing a helpful safety presence at the ballpark.
· Secure all access points to the ballpark, clubhouses and playing field.
· Ensures an understanding and compliance with all guidance, instruction, policies and procedures of the organization and the proper execution of assigned duties.
· Ensures all shift related issues, observations, and critical information is documented, verified, and accurately reported to the appropriate decision maker in a timely fashion.
· Completes all duties as otherwise assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements –
- High school diploma or GED required. Equivalent, relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of formal education, if approved by management
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
· Must possess strong communication skills, an outgoing and positive attitude, and enjoy interaction with fans.
- Must show good judgment and common sense.
- Clear, concise, and professional communication and customer service skills
- Follows directions and directives from supervisors.
- Follows the organization’s policy and guidelines.
- Professional appearance, positive attitude
- Ability to function well during a critical or emergency incident.
- Able to work weekends and holidays (when applicable)
Working Conditions / Special Physical Requirements:
· Must be able to walk, jog, run, climb, and descend stairs, and stand for long periods of time (3-5 hours)
- Ability to lift and move up to 40 lbs.
· May be exposed to extreme heat and inclement weather.
· Must be in good physical condition in order to perform this job.
· Must comply with applicable OSHA requirements, standards, and guidelines regarding COVID-19 safety protocols, as well as other health and safety protocol required by the IronBirds.
